{"id":1700,"date":"2026-05-03T12:20:32","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T12:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dausnews.org\/?p=1700"},"modified":"2026-05-03T12:20:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T12:20:33","slug":"prep-school-teacher-filmed-s3x-with-student-she-was-tutoring-not-my-best-thinking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dausnews.org\/?p=1700","title":{"rendered":"Prep school teacher filmed s3x with student she was tutoring: \u2018Not my best thinking\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A young Michigan prep school teacher has admitted having sex with a student she was tutoring at his home \u2014 a \u201cdisgusting\u201d act she even filmed, calling it \u201cnot my best thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jocelyn Sanroman, now 27, of Pontiac, was sentenced to four to 15 years in prison on Tuesday after earlier pleading guilty to third-degree sexual conduct, FOX 2 Detroit reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was arrested after letting slip to a colleague nearly a year ago that she\u2019d had sex with a 16-year-old male student she was tutoring in 2023, when she was also teaching at Oakside Prep Academy in Waterford Township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"459\" height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/dausnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1701\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dausnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-3.png 459w, https:\/\/dausnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-3-239x300.png 239w, https:\/\/dausnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-3-10x12.png 10w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>She was sentenced after Judge Cheryl Matthews expressed astonishment that she would film the illegal act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat do you have to say? What were you thinking?\u201d the judge asked Sanroman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNot my best thinking,\u201d the disgraced educator replied flippantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/06\/48328-jocelyn-sanroman-26-teacher-107431554.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Oakside Prep Academy\" class=\"wp-image-36397606\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Her attorney told the judge that unaddressed mental health issues were behind her sick actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe made a tremendous error of judgment here,\u201d the attorney said. \u201cShe\u2019s working forward and trying to do her best to become a better person.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim\u2019s mother slammed Sanroman for the damage she did to her son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have watched my son change.
